HI, I'M DANA
Your guide through the wedding planning
process so you can be fully present.
First of all, congratulations! I'm so excited for you as you begin your wedding season! My wedding season was a magical time that I will cherish for the rest of my days. The best part of my wedding season was being able to forget about the wedding details, focus on my husband & be present with our friends & family who were all in one place, at one time – to celebrate us.
The opportunity to be fully present during the wedding season is what I want for all of my couples! And that's where I come in. Thats my job. I love to serve people and enjoy going the distance to make experiences extra special. It brings me joy to have others trust me with these precious moments in their lives!
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Sustainable Business (balancing people, profit, and planet). I have worked in the events industry through various roles since 2010. In the last decade, I have been able to turn vision into reality & realize my true calling – curating unforgettable, sustainable events. More on the sustainable part below.
With my free time, you will find me kickboxing, gardening, living the foodie life, and spending time with my husband, family, and friends. If I'm not doing one of those things, I may be on my couch eating a pint of Jeni's Salted Peanut Butter with Chocolate Flecks ice cream while planning a trip... Or maybe I'm watching the Real Housewives. What can I say? That sounds like a great time!
I'm grateful that you want to get to know me, and my company. Let's get together and start planning!

What is sustainability to us?
Sustainability is becoming a bit of a buzz word these days. What does it really mean? Well, sustainability has varied meanings for different people and industries. The way I define it is simple: Balancing people, profit, and planet – or social, economic, and environmental – matters. Although it's exciting that sustainability is becoming a more common term – I'm gonna be real with you – it's not as great as it sounds. If you are working with a "sustainable" or "eco-conscious" vendor, ask them what they are doing to earn that title. There is quite a bit of greenwashing out there, so things may not be as good as they seem.
How do we operate as a sustainable, eco-conscious business?
Here are some practices Thyme & Details follows day-to-day:
-
100% renewable energy is supplied to home office.
-
We drive an EV powered by renewable energy – which means we are demanding less fossil fuels to be pumped into the grid.
-
We partner with Green Columbus and Eden Reforestation Project. We make a donation to have one tree planted for each guest at the events we plan and manage (ex. 250 guests = 250 trees planted to offset emissions from the event). See our tree counter below!
-
With a Bachelor's Degree in Sustainable Business (OSU EEDS), Dana serves as a resource for clients and vendors who wish to be more eco-conscious.
-
We work with Food Rescue US, farms, and composting organizations to divert food waste from our events.
-
We donate leftover florals to seniors, artists, and public spaces to extend the life and legacy of our clients' decor.
-
In lieu of gifts, we make a donation on behalf of our clients to a nonprofit organization that means something to them and positively impacts our community.
-
We encourage reduction of waste, reuse of materials in an eco-luxury manner, and recycling/composting of any leftovers.
-
We are developing a network of like-minded, conscious vendors – in addition to a traditional preferred vendor list – to lift up other vendors in the community who go the extra mile. We are also part of the Conscious Compass.
